Skin tones available in drug stores and cosmetics counters are measured in terms of 2 things.
1) Warm / Cool / Neutral
You can find which one you are by looking for gold, or grey tones in your skin. If you glow in the light, you're probably warm, and if you look pale, you're cool. Neutral is 'bland' skin.
2) Shades;
Porcelaine (extremely light skin tone)
Ivory (light skin tone)
Natural (medium pinky skin tones)
Beige (medium [go figure] beigey skin tones.

I suggest you do go to the drug store..or any discount store like walmart..put the bottle up to ur skin..maybe start w/ an ivory or soft beige..you can try to find the tone in ur skin as well. It is said that we all have a yellow or pink hue to our skin..warm or cool. Try to mix some on the backside of ur palm..mix it up..see how that goes..you should not get weird looks..I send my hubby all the time to the store to get me "feminine" items..

Hey,
Well, if you are embarrassed about it, you can always say that you have a twin sister, and you really want to get her some great make-up. Who are they to know if you do or do not.
As for the makeup, you can always go to a place that sells Bare-Minerals. If you want to buy their product, they will test it on your face to pick out the color that suits you best. Their products are really gentle also, so if you have any problems with breakouts, you shouldn't have to worry.
Hope that helps!

i would try MAC, we do have males that work at most of the MAC stores and wear more then just foundation (blush lipstick eyeshadow eyeliner etc)
we also have about 30different cool shades..and 30different warm shades you cant go wrong at MAC just go in and get matched tell them what your looking for...if u want full coverage studio fix fluid is great or a lighter color select tint or select spf. it says you surf so i would also look at face and body foundation its waterproof once it sets and doesnt come off, but its only at prostores

i use loreal paris "true match" at the store there is a plastic card that has the different colors on it. you are supposed to hold it up to your skin, and the color that disappears against your skin is the one that matches and it will blend perfectly into your skin. i suggest that. good luck!
