My shower has started to whistle whilst it's running, sometimes quite loudly! I don't know the make of the shower, but it's one of those ones that just has two taps coming out of the wall. It's not a power shower, it just runs off the normal water supply. I have a combination boiler if that makes any difference.
The whistling noise seems to be coming from the hot tap, but I can't tell for sure. The shower also seems to slightly lose pressure when the whistling starts, but not much.
Any plumbers out there have any ideas on what's happening?

Mine does that too. I don't know what causes it.

Might be psychic but i reckon the whistling will only happen when the the hot water tap is turned on fully. If you adjust the tap you should be able to get rid of the whistle.
It is a pressure problem, and sounds like the boiler needs servicing. or follow the instructions( if any available) to top up the pressure of the boiler.

Apart from the fact that there could be air in it, combi boilers do need a little top-up from time to time, even though they're a closed system. Perhaps it's whistling at the sight of you. Not sure why it's running at the same time, as I wasn't aware that they had legs.

don't be attentive to what form of guts you have on your lavatory you probable have the previous one with the flush plunger(large black or pink ball). substitute this to the hot one that eleminates this plunger and in case you're at it substitute the flapper subsequently why you're turning out to be the whistling noise and the scalding showers. The flapper is leaking and the lavatory is making an attempt to maintain the water point the comparable so that's slowley filling returned up and it is so gradual it whistles.do this and you will restoration your difficulty. by the way make certain the hot flapper basically has one finished on the backside and not backside and area.

For my shower, the whistling was from a really small hole near the shower head-- we have the kind of shower heads with like a tube leading to it...the hole was on the tube near the base. Could be? Check it out...

My shower whistles when I am in there also. I thought that it did it because I am so sexy. I was all happy over this and now youtell me that it is a common plumbing problem. I think I will just take a bath from now on since my shower doesnt think I am sexy. Darnit!

its probably because the pressure is low or high. Its nothing serious. The best you can do is to get a plumber to install a pressure gauge so its stable. That should get rid of the whistling

When your nose gets plugged it whistles.. Screw the shower head off and dip it into a mixture of CRL or something that gets rid or scale and minerals.. I can't sing in the shower with all that noise...

Look for something called lime remover... Soak it into it for at least 5 hours..
I'm glad you can't hear me sing..

Does it whistle any good tunes? If so, maybe you could make a recording? It could be a best-selling album at Homebase!

Do you have a cute bum?!

Ok, you need to get a plumber in. Things can get drastically worse if this is not within your area of expertise!

LOL

If it's whistling at you it must think you look sexy, take it as a compliment.
