I LIKE TO THINK I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT OTHERS, AM EMPATHETIC, HAVE LOTS OF LOVE TO GIVE/RECEIVE, AND I HAVE A PRETTY GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR(OR SO I AM TOLD ANYWAY). THANKS FOR MAKING ME THINK ABOUT MYSELF...I DON'T USUALLY DO IT AND I KIND OF GOT IN A RUT WHERE I WAS THINKING I HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER OR ANYTHING THAT MAKES ME SPECIAL. THANKS AGAIN

I'm not all that special. I'm just a semi-random collection of knowledge and emotions triggered by stimuli. For everything I can do, there are a million things I cannot do. Each one of my personal traits is shared by countless other humans. They say it's not what you can do that makes you unique, but the combination of things you can do, your genes and appearence. That's your fingerprint, and that makes you about as special as a combination lock.
Personally, I think we have to look at our web of connections to truly see our uniqueness. Despite each humans practical mundanity and replacability, there will always be at least one person to whom this human is important. Of course, this localises your importance, but it still a nice feeling to think that you're irriplacible to someone, or that someone is irriplacible to you.
