Yes you would because you have been a council tenant for the 5 years, that's the improtant thing - I'm don't know if that applie us you moved from one council area to another but it should be very easy for you to find out.

If you are still in the same area and same council, then yes, because I think it is 3 years. I also know that the rules changed a couple of years ago that whatever area you lived in (different councils) they all combine now as one i.e. you still have your 5yrs as a council tenant. I would check though with the council you are now with.

I dont think so you have to start over. I think you have to be living in the property for at least 10 years before your eligible to buy

Have a look at the website for them - usually gives details. I think changing property is ok...it's length with them but double check.

if you do an exchange it does not affect your right to buy. your right to buy is based on the number of years you have been a council tenant.

ask at your local council, they should be able to advise, also if any family memmber have served in the forces you can get discount depending on how many years they have served
