Nesting! Ahhh nesting- I don't miss it one bit. :) Sleep when you can is all I can say. It was next to impossible for me to sleep at night. I would fall asleep around 2 and be up at 4 or 5 making omelets. LOL. Do a lot of things while you are awake that may make you tired. Although you are already sleepy and may feel a bit lazy, vacuum the floor wash the windows, do the dishes and laundry and try to tire yourself out. It may add another hour or so onto your slumbers. Do not take baths but if a shower will soothe you try that. Bathing in water over 100 degrees is raising your inner body temp and can be harmful. Eat a nice healthy meal that fills you and that might make you a bit tired. Other than that- this is the breaks for the next few weeks. You might actually notice that towards the very end of your pregnancy you cannot get enough sleep. But some people are bright eyed 24/7.

No it isn't bad for you or the baby. It may be annoying but it sounds to me like you are perhaps going to start nesting. I did this with all 4 of my boys when I was towards the end. Just nap when you can and don't worry. After all when you have the baby you will only be sleeping a few hours at a time anyway, because you'll be up feeding and caring for the baby!!! Do now the same thing you will do then, catch a nap and sleep when you can!

I would try cutting out some of the power naps during the day as maybe that is why you are so awake. I usually take a nice warm bath with candles and then slip into bed and read a novel/ Within minutes I usually doze off. Another good idea is get your partner to give you a light rub across the back... works a treat. And while you are extremely tired it is not harming your baby but i would definaltey try and get more rest ! Good luck with the new bundle of joy on the way!

Contrats on the baby!!

I've only had one baby, but i had the same thing! I also took a nap during the day because I would become so tired. I asked my doctor and he said to try to stay awake during the day and to sleep as much as I could at night! That way I wouldn't have too much trouble after she was born!

So, I would recommend to also try making love with your partner or take a warm bath, read a book, or something else so that the baby and you both rest during night hours and are awake during the day! Buy a baby book, or a love story and read!

GOOD LUCK!

I have the same problem! I'm 35 weeks and can't sleep for more than a couple hours. I can't even take naps! My Dr said Tylonol Pm is safe. Try that. Also try relaxing for a couple hours before you go to bed so your body has a chance to wind down. Good luck w/ your baby! We're almost there!

Its not bad for the baby- you are so close to delivering, this is preparing you... because once you have the baby, you will be waking up every 2-3 hrs feeding. Play Spider Solitaire! lol That helped me when I was pregnant... I'd play a few games, and it would make me sleepy! :) Sometimes I also needed a snack when I couldn't sleep... when I was further along.... so I'd eat some fruit and play that game lol

Goodluck and congrats!

Exercise would probably help you sleep better, check which ones are safe for you right now. Also prepare yourself a good hour to go to bed turn everything off etc.

soothing music, maybe some hot chocolate, chammomile tea, a body pillow.

if you want to sleep at night, try skipping the naps, that might help also.

yes. this is bad for you and the baby. when you want to sleep at night, get a hot water bottle. maybe it's the pain that's causing your sleepless night. my mom always asked my dad to give her a massage when she felt pain in the middle of the night. so if it worked for them it could work for you too. drink some warm milk and read a good book that can put you to sleep and by the time you wake up you'll be relaxed.
