without them feeling to blame for what their perpitrator is doing?
They always feel its the other persons fault (which it is) - but feel that you are blaming them when you try to explain that they may need to change their pattern of their own behaviour.

As this is a repetative pattern when they come across a certain type of bully, I have tried but failed to tell them to spot this type of person early on and alter their behaviour pattern accordingly.

Isn't that what we all have to do to live in relative harmony?

I know someone who gets treated like this and she never see's it she either blames herself or other's instead of seeing the root of the problem is the bully.
You can try and show them the way they are being treated but until they open there eyes and see it for themselves they will never change there behaviour.

I am afraid that bullying will always be with us especially now we have programs making bullying fun for the masses IE big brother programs and x factor do they think that children do not see adults humiliating other people for the edification of viewers , and everybody thinks it funny, well not me i think they are sick programs for a sick society. back to bully's when i was a child i was very badly bulled i found it is no good hiding from such people they will seek you out the only way is what my old mum used to say every time they try to bully you give at least one of them a good punch on the nose as hard as you can , i tried it i took a lot of punishment but after a few bloody noses they gave up plus i got the respect of the whole school my reputation followed me all my school days i was never bulled again. I know today's society frowns on it but have any of there solutions worked . A DEFINITE NO

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind! Just go ahead and tell this person what you need to tell them. Yes it will be awkward and yes you probably will upset him/her and yes you will feel awful too, BUT you will have helped in the long run and will make this persons life better. THAT is what a friend would want, to improve this persons life!

You can't help a stubborn person. I find most people learn better on their own. When they make enough mistakes they will realize the problem real quick.
