quite normal if you are breastfeeding. i didnt get mine back till bubs was 6mth old. but use protection when you have sex because you ovulate before your first period comes & you can get preg very easily in the first year after having a bub.

You should not depend on breastfeeding as a form of birth control because you can get pregnant before you have a period. In my case, I got my first period when my daughter was about 4 months old. I am still breastfeeding her and she is 10 months now. So not everyone will have no period while breastfeeding. I just want to stress that it is not fool proof!!

When you're breastfeeding you produce hormones which may stop your periods. When you finish breastfeeding, they will return to normal, eventually. Be careful, though - breastfeeding is not a good contraceptive - you can get pregnant again! Always use something if you don't want another one straight away! If you have any concerns ask your health visitor or GP. Congratulations!

I breastfed for 9 months (bubby gave up not me) My period's returned when I stopped breastfeeding in the night. Until then I was feeding on demand which suppressed my periods as well as causing me exhaustion but kept my son happy and well fed.
Don't forget to use protection though as you'll ovulate before you know you starting your periods again - (like you want to go near your partner so soon after the trauma of giving birth)

It is perfectly normal not to have a period so soon after having a baby. If you do get your period back, it is likely to be irregular as long as you are breastfeeding. With one baby I went 14 months before getting my first PP cycle, and it was 2 years after baby #2.
Enjoy it while it lasts!

yes. It is perfectly normal. Some women can bf for up to 1 momths or longer without the return of a peiod. Other women bf has no effect on their period returning. Consider yourself lucky, as long as you have no period you can consider yourself on BC. Although having said that 5% of women DO ovulate before their first period returns & you could always get pregnant then. But 5% is a small percentage!

Perfectly normal. Breastfeeding, especially while you are still nightfeeding can delay your period for up to a year, occasionally more. But not always. My daughter was 4 months and still feeding twice in the night when I got mine back.

Normal. Whilst you are breastfeeding you normally don't get your period. However if you start having bigger and bigger gaps between the 2 breastfeeds (i.e when you eventually decide to stop breastfeeding), your hormones will start changing again and you may get your period before your milk fully dries up.
Just be careful if you don't want another pregnancy yet, as you won't be any wiser if you get pregnant, until that bump starts showing again.

You may not have a period until you stop breast feeding. Your bodys hormones can stop them so dont worry. It can even be up to a year before you have a period if you bottle feed. each person is different. I warn you though the first period after having a baby tends to be the heavist period ever! i though post birth bleeding was bad but that is something else so stock up ready!

Its perfectly normal not to have a period whilst you are breast feeding. I didn't have a period for the whole time I breast fed (9 months) and then had one two days after stopping.
You can get pregnant whilst you're breast feeding, so you should use some form of contraception.

Yes, you're normal. :-)
Some mothers never have a period the entire time they breastfeed.
I nursed exclusively until 6 mos and then added solid foods, continuing to breastfeed well beyond a year.
I got my period back at 10 mos, 9.5 mos and 16 mos after my three kids were born. It took a while to regulate and my cycles were long at first. Within 5 mos of my first period they were usually predictable again.
