how to convince an employer to pay higher amount of salary?

I want to go for a job change and dont know to bargain or ask for the higher salary. how much should I ask and how should I convince him/her to pay me that salary

2. Show courage to learn new things
3. Convince them to adapt yourself
4. Genuine display of long term goals

u tell him about ur new job offer, secondly tell him what all major responsibilities u are sharing, why the present salary is not sufficient for u, tell him about the cost of living. u should ask as per how much ur comfortable with.
ask the same as of new offer, but u will be getting a little lesser than that, he may not give u the same. if it is satisfactory for u then accept. if u really want to take the outside step then boldly tell this is not sufficient.
