I'd like everyone who has mentioned Firefox in their replies to questions about IE and Yahoo problems to know that I had never heard of it til a few days ago. Now I have it and it is much better than IE. I have learned a lot by reading replies in the computer section. Thanks!

Here's a comparison from CNET supporting your assessment.

Responses to a few earlier postings
SAID: I know that, but its sad that most software don't support Firefox.
RESPONSE: What software are you referring to? What are you trying to say because this is a meaningless statement as written.

SAID: This is only due to the fact that firefox hasnt been in the browser market anywhere near as long as I.E.! Give it time tho, it is becoming more susceptible to adware every day!
RESPONSE: Firefox is the open source development of what used to be the Netscape Navigator browser which was around BEFORE Internet Explorer. The security improvement of Firefox are not due to newness (otherwise IE7 which is newer than Firefox 2.0 would be more secure and it isn't). This point simply shows the author doesn't know the facts nor understand how browser security is acheived.

SAID: but some sites it cant open don't know why
RESPONSE: True. Sites that have been optimised for IE may not work with Firefox. Firefox is not a perfect solution (nothing is). You will need to keep IE as secondary browser if you want to access sites which have (against good web design principles) been designed to work properly only in IE. Alternatively you just boycott those sites as a protest against their poor design work.
