TUB CAULK HAS A MOLD INHIBITOR ADDED TO IT TO PREVENT OR RESTRICT MOLD GROWTH. IF YOU DON'T USE TUB CAULK IT WILL BE A PROBLEM. A HALF CUP OF BLEACH AND A GALLON OF WATER WILL GIVE YOU A MOLD KILLING SOLUTION TO SPRAY ON.

After every shower or tub you are supposed to wipe dry the walls and the rim of the tub, depending on what type of sealer was used bleach will clean it,however if tough stains you may need to scrape it off and seal it again with a good silicone caulk. If you have never done this before buy some blue masking tape, tape rim of tub approx 1/4 inch from wall and also tape wall 1/4 inch up from rim,cut the very tip off the tube nozzle making the hole small, puncture the inner seal, place in caulking gun.Squeeze out only one side of tub at once(keeping in between tape)wet your finger and gently smooth caulk, keep a dry rag handy to wipe excess off your finger ,continue steps until your done(all three sides).Allow to set for 1/2 hour or so carefully remove all tape, pulling away from caulk. You may use the tub the next day.
After all that try to remember to wipe walls down, the silicon will stay nice for years.

the cleaner Tilex works better that anything I've used. Be sure you get the one labeled for mildew. Tilex also makes one for soap scum so be sure to check the label. you won't even have to scrub. Just spray on.

My wife uses pure Hi-Lex and pours it on, works great and stays off for a time. It does come back naturally in time.
