How Ironic, Israel's attacks on Hizbollah serve to make them stronger?

Will they ever learn? Israel tries to impose a crushing blow on hizbollah by reducing Lebanon to rubble. A few months later Hizbollah now has such support and power its on the verge of a coup! When will the western governments realise ther only way to solve the middle east is to address the root causes, rather than to just react in a way that just makes the enemy stronger? Look at Al Qaeda more recruits than ever.

For those who've not been paying attention, some of the root causes are:

- illegal expansion of Israel's territory and the building of the wall that robs Palestinians of their land and livelihood
- degrading treatment of Palestinians and the bleakness of their future

hezbollah was created after Lebanon invasion when Israel went through the country trying to get Araft.
... then, actually, Israel created it.

Perhaps you are looking just to the surface. There is much more about this invasion. A lot of triggers were pulled when it happened.

Now, europe are within Lebanon. Last stabilized relationship with Syria is now corrupted. New government are facing internal problems and almost stabilized and free country must rebuild entire country and face internal disputes. Lebanon use to had huge number of catholics, living in Harmony with muslim until now... and everything will change. Why?

In answer to the people that have written that Israel have kept land that they invaded, in the past they went back behind their borders only to be attacked again.
Last year they pulled out of Gaza hoping for peace, is there peace, is hell frozen yet?
The Syrian have been the real enemy trying to control Lebanon as they have done for so many years and backing Hezbollah,
(they are the cowards that fight from civilian homes using the people as human shields).

Its probably because of the Muslim religion - like all the other Muslim terrorists, their actions are all bound up with their beliefs.

They are like medieval crusaders and they really beleive they will get virgins etc in heaven for what they do.

So when Israel bombs them they see it not just as angry retribution or a politcal statement, but as a religious crusade against the "infidel" Jews blah blah for which they will be rewarded in heaven (and they really beleive in heaven!).

Whereas secular, non religious people would probably baulk at the idea of laying down their lives for a political cause, these people are so indoctrinated that they readily jump at the suicide bomber challenge.

Israel's invasion on Lebanon served nothing except turning Lebanese infrastructure into rubble. Israel might have gained air superiority but they could not use it to gain military advantage. Their aircraft did nothing except destroying airports roads homes powerplants. Their land troops couldnot do anything, was defeated by Hezbollah and was forced to go back to Israel.

How coward now they killed lebanese christian leader to incite christian's anger to Hezbollah who have saved lebanon from Israel's occupation! Just like what they did in iraq, Israel bombed shia mosque to incite civil war. Let us see if it will work in Lebanon

you could make the same argument for our policies int the middle east, while no one raised much hell about our goingafter Bin Ladden in Afghan, when we invaded Iraq we sparked the fire of terrorism! We proved their point!
