Smoothies and fruit and veg juices are doing big business at the moment what with everyone getting the healthy eating bug. Make sure your shop is open during the commuting hours and people will be cramming in their '5 a day'. You could also sell flapjacks, healthy takeaway snacks and top quality treats such as little cakes and pastries etc. Considering that smoothies/juices retail at £3-5 a pop and they are very quick to make the cash will be rolling in. However, make sure you do some market research on your area and demographic to make sure that people would actually be interested in purchasing your wares. Flyering and getting out on the streets in the local area handing out little free samples of the things you are selling would help drum up business also. Best of luck - I'd love to set up a shop - can I be your business partner?

You have to survey the area and find out what kind of things are demanded in that area and whether there are adequate number of shops are already there.Whether there is any scope for a new shop has to be ascertained.Since the people are rich price maynot be a problem and quality and brand may matter much.If you are confident, you can make the shop feel different and due to better service you will be able to do well.Concentrate on high quality fast moving branded consumer goods,

If you are feeling brave why don't you spend a couple of days doing a street survey and ask the locals what shops they would like to have. Or think about how and where you would purchase your products from, which would make the most profit, would you products be something that could adjust to the seasons etc. Good luck

Any shop will work if it is the only one and sells what the people want! Why don't you go round asking what people would like to see? No point in setting up a grocery store if there are 2 already, or a pet store no one will go to.

You are the best judge of this. But for what it is worth carry out a small survey of the products that that move the fastest and the next down the line within a week you will know where you stand on the best business you could with, establish youself, and, enjoy the benefits of your investment.

Why dont you look around and see what shops are there? Then open something that your area does not currently have, you will have a monopoly in that you will be the only one there (for the moment)

I have thought about this before too. I agree with the person who said to do a local check and see what is there already. You may get a flash of inspiration this way.

Otherwise, i think it is a safe bet to sell something that people can't live without - food, clothes, in my case shoes, whatever.

Good luck with your new venture!

You need to think about what sort of things you are in need of and there is a lack of in your area. Example, our area there is a lack of sewing/wool shops, and bakers. I think these would do real well here.

So look in your area to see what the need is, what is lacking. Good luck

finding out to purchase community ability finding out to purchase from non-chain family contributors owned organizations and farms first. i'm no longer a vegetarian (yet) yet i'm an organic and organic ingredients freak, yet I even might want to admit that finished ingredients has a extra useful brisker determination that different different community health ingredients shops. also, they placed up the rustic of beginning of their produce and commonly of their seafood. that's amazingly healthful. in the course of the summer season i will attempt to affix between the community organic and organic foodstuff coops although. finding out to purchase community ability finding out to purchase at an section family contributors owned pharmacy (which I do), ironmongery save (truly than Lowes of abode Depot), community outfits shops, and so on. commonly the costs are better because they couldn't have adequate money to purchase huge inventories. also, i'm quite sensible the chains drop their prices to squeeze out the family contributors owned organizations. that's against the law, because they bypass out of corporation, then the costs contained in the chains upward thrust and the established drops dramatically. One very impressive "corporation" we've is "freecycle". i will probable get extra lively in that.
