Well, the way I see it. You have one of two choices;
1 Fess up. Admit your mistake. Accept the wrath of the hotheads.
2 Cover it up and deny deny deny
Its really up to what you can live with. Is there anyway you can go back and fix it?
Either way, dont you dare feel guilty. Humans make mistakes. Thats what we do. You have no idea how many times I had to hit the backspace button in typing this! You need to forgive yourself. Know that next time you wont make the same mistake.
Besides, without wanting to sound all hippyish and cosmic, everything happens for a reason. Sure, you probally cant see a reason for this, but trust me there will be one. Maybe one of the hotheads needs to learn more patience. Who knows? But hey - its a work error, millions happen everyday. You're not Adolf Hitler. Cut yourself some slack!

First off apologize for that. ( That was your mistake )
Is there anything that you can do to recover from that ? If not, then live with the professional consequences. No, you don't have to live with assaults. Next explain what you will do differently and avoid any possible same mistakes from ever happen again.
Bottomline, everyone makes mistakes. If people who you work with does not give you chance or respects, then move on.
They in turn will make mistakes one day also. But if they are just assholes, then you can care less about them. Try to move on.

Maybe you did make a mistake there,and you should apologise for it.Hot-headed people can't be hot-headed all the time.Maybe you could write a letter of apology,at least show you're sorry.
Also,if you know you didn't do it on purpose,forgive yourself.Go do something fun,don't waste your life away feeling guilty and stupid.

Just learn a lesson and move on. Ignore the hot heads after you apologize for screwing up and just move forward doing your job; learning and improving as you go. Everybody screws up and nobody is safe from making another mistake of some kind until they are dead. It's just life. If you care, then you're way ahead of the game. Keep your confidence and move forward.

You made a mistake. Everybody makes them from time to time. Fix the problem as soon as you can, and apologize if necessary. Then it'll be done with.

Take responsibility for your mistakes, be honest, and resolve to not let it happen again. Write about it, and keep that in your diary.
