Help! Lots of help, the best gift you can give her is yourself a loving husband and wonderful father for her child. You can go to classes and read parenting and pregnancy books and make sure you are prepared for this just as much as she is. You can be there and be her advocate for when she is in pain and labor. You can get her, her cravings, put a pillow under her feel when they are swollen. You can rub her feet when they are sore. You can massage her back when they hurt. You can be patient for mood swings during pregnancy and during the postpartum period. You can go with her to as many doctor appointments as possible.

In addition surprise her with flowers every once in awhile for no reason, just because. My husband also brings me roses on each of our childrens birthdays each year as a special thank you for the gift of our children. Something of which all my friends are jealous!

Make sure you take lots of pictures and video to document as this is so important to her. Tell her she's sexy even when she is due any day and her belly button has turned inside out! Send her little notes when she least expects it.

Perhaps a gift certificate for a special relaxing massage. Or a beautiful peace of jewelry to commemorate the new life you have created together. A charm bracelet is a wonderful item, you could add a new charm for every month of the pregnancy. Or a new charm for each of the child's birthdays. Something she will treasure forever. or a locket in which she can place a picture of you and a picture of the new baby.

Congratulations, I can tell you are a wonderful caring husband and that is the best gift any wife could ever get!

A thank you, domestic help for the first little bit, understanding that she may need time for herself without the baby once in a while, no pressure for sex right off (and I mean pressure not normal suggesting) and remember she is your wife, as well as a mother so treat her as though you love her romanticly as a woman can get so caught up in being a mom that all else goes by the wayside.
Congrats on the baby, and this was a very insightful question, I think you will do fine by your wife :-)

Buy her a beautiful gold ring or necklace with a locket and u can buy a small necklace for your baby too.Well that's the way you should appreciated your wife so she'll feel there's someone care and love her coz that is the time she need to be pampered. And after couple months when your baby is big enough u can bring both of them to have a wonderful holiday for a week or two...congratulation dad!!

make her a little "me time" coupon book. you could put in gift cards to her favorite coffee shop, massage place, or to get her hair done or a pedicure.
you know, when a woman is pregnant she gets so much attention and then the baby comes and everyone focuses on the little one and mom can end up feeling just fat and flabby and tired of course. and she is also adjusting to this new all-consuming mother identity. just do something that reminds her that she is still a unique, independent person.

A finely crafted rocking chair for her and the baby.... this will be something that can be passed down in your family.

Also, the help around the house, the day at the spa, all that is great too.

your patience. If your company allows, take 1/2 mth leave. Take care of the baby together. Enjoy the process together.

Help her whenever you can. try to bear her temper if she has one during her confinement.

That's the best gift. Support her mentally rather than give her anything valuable and leave her with the baby.

your patience, time and help around the house.. maybe one day give her the day off from parenting when she is really stressed out. send her to the spa for a massage, manicure, pedicure and hairstyle. it will make her feel like a woman again after being home with the baby all day.
