Where in Texas? every city has it's own personality an culture. I love living in Texas, I love the weather, the people, the food. Houston is extremely diverse, tons of people, great sports teams (I know the Texans stink now but just give us a year). You can take a Caribbean or Mexican cruise right out of Galveston. The beaches aren't the best but Padre Island ranks up there as a top spot for Spring Breakers. If you are in Houston you will find a lot of transplants from all over the world the industry here brings us together. Yep it get hot but that's the best time to head to the Hill Country in New Braunsfels to go tubing in the ice cold Guadalupe or Comal Rivers, If you love Music head to Austin's 6th Street make sure to grab soem BBQ at Stubb's.
I love everything about Texas, but also know that some people don't care for it. It is all a maater of opinion and how open you are. Give it a try you might like it :)

i, personally, love living here but i know this is not the place for everyone. just like i know people who love living in other parts of the states are not living where i would be happy. every place offers something a bit different and it is up to the people who live there to make the most of it and find a way to love it, coexist with it, or just move on. texas is a very diverse state, so one region may not be that great but another is wonderful. i believe it comes down to an individual's interests, family, and job as just a few things that can make a place great or not.

It depends on what you personally like. One thing, though, it's so damned huge that you have a wide variety of possibilities regarding terrain, weather, and fast-paced vs. slow-paced. Keep in mind that Texas as a whole tends to be slower paced.
Oh, and Texas firmly believes that it is a Country unto itself that just happens to be attached to America.

I have never met a Texan who would say it was. In my opinion its the best place in America to live. Not only did Texas choose to give up its sovreign status to be a part of America, it is also one of the friendliest places to be. There seems to be a certain amount of awe from people of other states when you say " I am a Texan"
