I always used to critisize myself, wanting to just be a normal teenager. The truth is though, I'm not normal. I have a disability, and I get depressed alot of the time. More than anything I just want to be normal. But then I started thinking, what is normal anyway? I'm unique, no one can feel what I feel, or be who I am. So why do we feel ashamed of being different in the first place. I say, I'm not going to let myself care anymore that I cant do everything other people my age do. Be unique.

I always had a saying growing up.. I was never "normal" I did my own thing, wore what i wanted, etc. so here goes... it helped me get through some rough times.. maybe it can help you too..
"why do people always call me strange?? There are more strange people in the world than there are normal people, so doesn't that make the normal people strange and the strange people normal?"
additional::
maybe this is what you are looking for..
Normal:. Conforming with, adhering to, or constituting a norm, standard, pattern, level, or type; typical
What some would consider normal say in high school, would be to be popular, dress the same style as the popular kids, etc. SO normal really is a generalization based on what "society" deems to be the "norm" hence the word "normal" The problem with this is that then people start to lose their individuality.. also to go along with my saying above, if you think about high school or any other aspect of life.. the ones who consider themselves "normal" a.k.a. the popular, pretty, etc. ones are actually in a minority. The majority of the people are different therefore making them the "norm"
norm
n.
1. A standard, model, or pattern regarded as typical

ah. I was going to say "average" but then I read the rest of your question, which was more a discovery and sharing than a question. I would say that you are not average, that's for sure. There are people walking around looking perfectly "normal", but on the inside, they've got a disability.

Normal is a personal thing, i suppose what ever makes you feel good and you know yourself what you are doing is not wrong, except if your killing people or touching little kids, that's not normal

yes everyone is a little unique, so that makes conformity, and normal is being conformed with everyone else, being similar basically, like wearing hollister with white kids and ecko with black kids, being real unique is hard but its cool

Everyone is different, and that is not what separates us. It is the reluctance to address and celebrate our differences that separates us.
