Norton Disk Doctor scan?

After i use Norton Disk Doctor to scan for my PC,it left the following files under my C drive root folder ,FILE0000.DD to FILE0016.DD .Anyone know what is that?

Can i safetly delete these files?

They are files recovered when it found "lost sectors" and you told it to save them rather than delete them.

As you seems to have no idea what those are for and you don't seem to be missing any files, they can be deleted.
