You mean disturbing to many.
Because people like to drink.
Some like to drink a lot and some like to drink in moderation.

Because they were unable to get plastered. Seriously. Try to keep an alcoholic from his drink and see what you get.

Because they wanted to drink alcohol or sell alcohol to people who wanted to drink.
