Well nails protect our fingers.
BUT mind it that these are dead cells..
the nails.
the hair...
& yes the appendix.
i know why is that there..
appendix is actually a small sack which stores the toxic material if we take toxic diet...
like some people who live near industrial areas in undeveloped countries..
& because of eating dirty & unhygenic food etc...
this stores the toxic material...
[I heard it some where]

NOW about the ear lobes, i think it is not even a part of ear....
it is ear itself....
for scientific study every thing is further divided into further sections....
So the ear lobe is a small section of ear as is pinna.
I dont think it is useless...
I must be helping our ears like improving reception of signals etc...

very useful to stop the fabric of a shirt clinging on a hot day!

where else would nipple tassles go?

to detect if things are getting a little cold....

"Like other body parts that seemingly have no real function (the appendix for one, and ah...the um, earlobe, for another), many people believe that male nipples may simply be leftover from a time when we did need them. Evidence of evolution, you might say. For example, many yorn ago (and this is purely conjecture), appendixes (appendi?) served as homing devices. As you know, our hairy ancestors were nomads. Burger Kings were spaced really far apart back then, so they'd have to pack up their animal pelts and follow the meat. And unfortunately, no one had invented those yellow-tinted snow goggles that all the hottie snowboarders wear, and we all know that cavemen are much too manly to hold hands, and so the nomads got separated, but every spring their appendixes would put out silent homing signals so the people could meet up and have sex like rabbits.

So yeah. In conclusion, appendixes once were useful. Now all they do is cause trouble. Other useless appendages located on the outside of the body are usually pierced. If they can't be useful, they might as well be pretty (much like me)." Exceprt from Nippola Nippola Nippola Nippola Nippolaaaa!

Men actually do have mammary glands. They are simple left undeveloped. The nipples are simply a part of the mammary glands.

Men with significantly elevated estrogen levels can actually develop "traditional" breast (yes man-boobs) and can get breast cancer.

I believe this is part of the nature of our DNA. Were the DNA of males substantially different then that of the females, species propagation would not be viable.

The same reason why we have nails on the ends of our toes.

Its a throw back to when we used to be apes.

God alone knows why those monkeys had them, maybe because it would have looked mightily funny if the lady folk had them and we didn't.

They are also pleasure points for we men too- although not nearly as sensitive.

They are on all male mammals. They overlie mammary glands, which are undeveloped. Some guys with stimulation can actually lactate (produce milk), a tribe in africa has both the males and females breastfeeding.

it is a vestigious organ i.e., it has no function. just like the Vermiform Appendix and the Nictating Membrane in the eye

Vestigial.

Another proof of evolution. Not a disproof of God creating us, however.
