A little proverb I came across recently:
"He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away." --unknown
People who constantly point out your flaws have the proverbial log in their own eyes. In other words, ignore them and don't have too much contact with them.

People can be afraid of positives, because they feel it is a sign of weakness. Remember that is a common misconception, to be positive is a real asset and strength. Don't worry about people putting you down, as you can be sure they are masking far greater insecurities/problems within themselves, You are the unique individual you are and don't you ever forget that.

If you allow people to dictate the way you feel about yourself then you lose! You tell people you are legitimate, they either accept that or they don't.

Are you sure you're being "accepting" and not just being a "push-over"?
Try this for awhile...(just awhile)...when they push, push back. They'll get the point quickly. Then they'll know you're being accepting and not being a wimp.
