Didn't your parents teach you better than to lie?
It's ok, everyone in chat rooms does it. Usually because they don't like what their reality is.
Many are criminals and sex offenders and pretend to be teenagers.

I have a rule of thumb to go by on whether I lie while chatting: Is it to protect my identity?
I will lie in some instances about where I live if I think the other person is a creep or my skin color just so that I can get an unbiased answer out of someone.
I never tell anyone my true age, partially because I forget, I just tell them thirty-something.

The consequence of lying is displeasing God. You can figure out the rest.

You may lie if you want, but don't forget, your credibility is at stake, once discovered never forgiven or trusted any more
