When having sex, is it really UNSAFE to use 2 condoms? I've heard that it's actually NOT double the protection, instead it creates friction between the two, making it much more likely to tear the condom(s). Can someone please set the record straight for me?

Im not a gynaecologist, but im a doctor and i can answer your questions. It is likely to depend on the qualilty of the condom. It could tear the condom because of the friction, though its not often happen.
What for you wear 2 condoms anyway? Just use 1 will do; if you want double protection; you can discuss with ur partner too if she wants to be in contraceptive pills or just use 'sex patch' called Evra; it is very convenience and easy to use

Yes that is true. Using two condoms will NOT help you but rather increase chances of the condoms breaking and risk of pregnancy.

Two is not a necessity. For the sensation one is enough. Good brand won't tear so easily. More THAN THAT one over the other may cause penetration problems also.

here is somewhat of a break down.. its almost exactly what you said.. (by the way, your info is right)
condom= rubber
rubber+rubber(2 condoms)= friction
friction= heat
heat+rubber+rubber= melted rubber
melted rubber= screwed..
hm.. i think that should so it..

one condom is plenty enough when placed on the penis correctly but still cannot always stop vd's
