Without even being familiar with your car I will tell you this: DON'T TOUCH IT. You won't be able to work on it. Any catalytic converter on a twenty year old car will need lift, a torch, a welder, and someone experienced with them all. And expect that more of the exhaust systems parts are going to be changed as well. It's a lot of work on your back. I was an exhaust mechanic for years and I wouldn't even try it now, not without a shop. Look for someone you can trust, someone local. Stay away from the nationalized, franchised companies if you can. Trust me on that one.

My advice to you is to get under the car and look at it. Off the top of my head I can't remember if your car's catalytic converter is welded or bolted on, but if its bolted on...its super easy and pretty straight forward. You just gotta make sure to buy some gaskets for it, they're not that expensive and you should be able to get some from the dealership or maybe an autoparts store.

hey bro, well to put it simply, Saturn's are absolutely the worse cars to work on. Depending on the converter, you will prolly have to take it in, because they have to mig weld it to your existing exhaust. Although you may be able to find a clamp on model, I am highly doubting it, if you have a wire feed welder, and can lay a good bead, by all means go for it, if not, your just stuck getting a shop to do it....
