My husband and I have both decided a divorce is the best course of action at this point. There will be no contesting it or disputes about who gets who. That being said, what is the most cost effective way to file for a divorce if youre a low income couple?

What state do you live in? In California for instance, you can pick up a do it your self divorce packet that cost around $9. You get this packet at the county court house (family law division), or you can fill out and print the paper work online. Do a web search for your state and the word divorce. It is simple to fill out the paperwork and if you are low income then you can have the court and filing fees waved. There is no need to appear before a judge. Everything will be divided between the two of you. The divorce is finalized within 6 months. Good luck!

Search the internet for Divorce in your state..
Most states allow you to fill out the forms yourself
and do the filing yourself...No lawyers needed...
In Texas for example, you can get all the forms off of the
internet for about $15....It costs about $175 to file them
with the clerk of court in the county in which you reside...
After 60 days from date of filing, you are given a court date
and you go in and judge will grant your divorce....No lawyers...
