I am the bad guy that you find out later is really good, and it has all been a mis-understanding.

Since you're specifically asking how I consider myself right now, I'm going to have to reply BOTH in the following context only:
I'm not doing absolutely all I can to grow my kids well, but I do all that I'm able given the circumstances as they are. Time creates limits. Resources have limits. Throw it all in a pot and patience has limits. Life has limits.

At this time in my life I consider myself the "good guy" because I think I' am nice and sweet.
