do you call them "house shoes" or "slippers" ?? really people. me and my friend have been fighting about it. i know stupid but who cares anyway...

alot depends on where your from...house shoes is a southern thing...slippers is a northern thing...i call them both...lol

Slippers was a term for a type of shoe usually only worn in the house. Now slippers in many styles are worn everywhere. House shoes can be slippers and vice versa. There is NO STANDARDIZATION on these terms, though, in the past, there was less cross-over meaning.

Never heard the term "house shoes". Always called them slippers around here.

slippers! the house doesn't have shoes 'cause it has no feet! lol

if you're not sure they're slippers, try running on the hardwood or lineoleum floor and seeing if they don't let you slip 'n slide...
