That's so brilliant! I'll bet you're right. They say there's no such thing as bad press, right?

I don't think he meant for this to happen. The man looked absolutely miserable on Letterman, and you could see Jerry Seinfeld walk the line of being both supportive and disgusted with Richards. This kind of thing hurts him personally and professionally and it'll take a long time to regain people's respect.

I doubt that he did it on purpose. Negative publicity is worse than no publicity. He's going to lose fans over this. I know many people, myself included, who will never again watch a movie that has Mel Gibson in it.
While Mel Gibson & the Kramer guy say that they didn't mean what they said, I don't believe it for a minute.

mmm hmm, black people using the n word against other black folk...
I once heard a quote that I think applies to black people using the n word against other black folk, which tells of the root of this Kramer problem...
Something like..."Don't admit to your girlfriend that you're a loser. She might decide to believe you."
I think black people who use the n word against other black people should probably try a dose of integrity, and let other races use the same words (and meanings) you yourself use; (and teach your kids to use).
(And "DON'T talk to me that way *I* played Hamlet at Cambridge.")

I think he just lost it because he couldn't handle heckling.
A stand up comic can become an actor, but an actor might not be able to do stand up.
Entirely different mentality is needed.

That's what I thought when I heard about it on the radio. Then I saw the video clip and I think it was real. That kind of publicty won't get him any work or an audience. I think his career is completely washed up now.

If you haven't seen the video...then you might ask this. It was pretty clear he had a full blown meltdown. Scandal's like this destroys careers...

He reacted to stress and lashed out---later apologized-----why can't he be forgiven? most of us have done much more than name calling----how can we be forgiven if we are not forgiving?
had he been a Hispanic or black comedian would this have been drummed over and over again in the news or would an apology have been accepted? what should be his punishment? death?-------all sides should forgive
