The first one, 1/2bh, is the area of a triangle, h = height and b = base.
the next one (s^3) is the volume of a cube where all the sides are the same length, s.

Half the product of the base times the height could be the area of a triangle.

S(3rd power) could be the volume of a cube of side S.
