They should be called bio-luminescent beetles, but just try to get a 4 or 5 year old to say that.

No, they are called fireflies because of the light their back end has. It lights up continously. It is only present on the east coast. Here is wikipedia for more.

Glowbutts... that is too funny...Hey ma.. Look my butt is glowing! I think it is because they make people think that they are carrying fire or something... They are so cute though!! Don't kill them!
