Does the PS3 controllers do the same thing as the Wii? You know, when you can use the controller to point at the t.v. and play.

No it will not. The Wii sensor bar can detect the Wii Remote in 3D space. It can tell you where the Wii Remote is, basically, anywhere, and it can also function like a point and click device. It also can replicate a sword, bat, fishing rod, etc.

The Sony SIXAXIS controller can only move left, right, up, down, and diagonals.

yes, the wireless controller that PS3 will use will have a better range than the Nintendo Wii controller and still have the same easy, non-confusing similar controlls of the PS2, best of all, more stylish look, below is a link to show a picture of the controller
