it's a little too much, try letting your eyes breath a bit and apply only on the top lid.

How about switching to pencil liner? Use dark brown or grey and for the bottom of the eye, line it only half way from the outer corner in. Use darker colour eyeshadow and smudge it as you applies along the lid. You can also smudge the eyeshadow at the bottom lash line. The smudging will give you a more natural effect.
Happy experimenting!

First, try to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free, then, for natural result, eyeliner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners, take an eyeliner brush, wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first.

A lot of people have the misunderstanding that smokey eyes equals tons of eyeliner. It is actually very simple to do and only requires little eyeliner.
The best thing to do is to apply a dark eyeshadow from your crease to your lashline. Then apply a thin line below your bottom lashline, start from the outside going in getting thicker to thinner. Next you want to apply a light, shimmery color from your crease to browline and next to your tearduct. Finally add black mascara and black eyeliner on your bottom lid.
Good luck and I hope I helped!

You are probably using the wrong kind and color. I would try Smashbox eyeliner. Also try Grey or brown cream liner. Put on in a thin line then smudge. And a little goes a long way!

The right way to do the smokey eye is not putting layer upon layers on, all you need is a little and make sure you blend it well. Here is a step by step, you can tweak it to your preference. Practice, practice, practice.

Not really. I use it only on my bottom lid (A Nice Coal Black shade) and that's all. However, when I'm going out (Parties, any night-time activities) I wear it on the top and as you have done. Unlike all the others, I think it looks nice on you. You're pretty too.
Hope I helped. ♥
