Is it good or bad, for an immigrant to retain his/her own culture while living in America?

It's good. They DO retain their culture. Look at Chinatown. Look at the Italian sections of town. It's easy to differentiate between the cultural groups by the shops and restaurants and styles of buildings. It what makes America AMERICA. We are a melting pot. All of the past immigrants have retained at least a bit of their culture and all of us have benefited from that. Of course we should expect that the new wave of immigrants will want to do the same. Everybody likes remembrance of home.

it depends, but if you're living in a country and considered as a citizen, u should stick to that culture. u would still be able to do traditional things from your original culture through family and friends, but u can't continue to live in the exact way u did in your original country because technically you've given that all up by moving to the u.s.

Sure it could to an extent . They do need to learn to speak English though .
It still is our country .
