Some activity ideas . . . Make paper snowflakes (fold sheet of paper several times, cut small pieces out, then unfold, put in window or hang from string) ~ ~ Take them out caroling to a few nearby homes, decide on a few songs that all know and keep simple. ~ ~ ~ Christmas wrap a 'special' item in a box that makes a distinct sound and pass the box around for the girls to guess what might be in it (maybe wrap 2 or 3 ) ~ ~ ~ Play a form of Charades with Christmas phrase themes or pair up the girls and have them 'mime'/sing along to a Christmas song.~ ~ ~ Play a game of 'scoop up the snowball' (spoon, timer, cotton balls, to see who 'shovels' the most snow, one at a time from point A to B ~ ~ ~ Crazy/odd holiday sock exchange. ~ ~ ~ the rest...you take it from there. Have fun.

Get a bunch of inexpensive felt stockings ,glitter glue, felt ,odd and end decorations and safety scissors and let them decorate them. Decorating cookies that you have already made is also a lot of fun. If this were a party at my house, we would put together a stocking for an elderly person in a rest home, make christmas cards and little gifts to fill the stockings. This could really make someone's holiday. Another idea, since the girls will be dressing up, have a nutcracker tea party and have the girls bring their dolls and teddy bears as guests.Good luck and have fun!

When my daughter was around that age, I did a short-order cook restaurant for them. They could order a sandwich from the grill: Hamburger, Hot Dog, Grilled Cheese, or Hot Ham & Cheese ... etc. I gave them those few choices. They could also have fries and/or corn on the cob and I think I had something else but can't remember. Then we had a couple of deserts to choose from, and a choice of a few sodas.
I came out like a waitress and took all their orders at the table I had made like a restaurant table. Then I prepared their oders and served them, and played waitress throughout their dinner.
They felt very "grown up" getting to pretend they were out to eat.
If you do this, make sure you pick things you can cook quickly and easily. Don't work TOO hard! LOL
For games, what about something with a little physical action... like TWISTER. Not something I would recommend for a co-ed teen party, but 8 yr olds might have fun with it if you referee the game for them.
Best Wishes and Merry Christmas.

bake and decorate cookies and cupcakes
build a ginger house (if your not handy, get a kit)
make home made ornaments - I did this as a kid and it was so much fun, get a variety of items like styrofoam balls, beads, glitter, felt, etc. I loved using pins and beads and styrofoam to create some great decorations.
Decorating your own Christmas stocking - get a plain felt stocking or make one before hand for each girl and let them use glue, glitter, lace, etc to decorate them.
Make nature ornaments for the outside trees - string popcorn, cranberries, cherrieos, anything edible that will string to hang outside for the birds and squirrels to enjoy. (great if you have trees).
Also you can do the pine cones with peanut butter and bird seed as outdoor decorations as well.

They are pretty artsy at that age I would go to the dollar tree get some paints and candles and make christmas candle holders for center pieces. They can each do their own thing and then proudly put it on the table for everyone to enjoy.

Ask each girl to bring a wrapped gift suitable for a girl her age and let them exchange gifts...number the gifts as they bring the gift in, and let each girl draw a number out of a box or stocking, and that will determine the gift she gets. I'd have a stack of Christmas movies for their age available, and lots of snacks...Also, you could have a karaoke party.....using Christmas songs....
