Seaham is a port city. Durham is a coastal city with a higher elevation near the Pennine Hills. The nearness of the sea affords Seaham a more moderate climate than Durham, who's varying elevations prompt more precipitation. The daily temperatures are usually within 1 degree C. of each other. But the difference in air pressure is enough to give Durham slightly more rain or snowfall.

;-D The North East Coast of England is lovely and borders the Scottish Highlands. Plan your tour accordingly!

Let me guess. Seaham is on the coast? Water moderates temperature.
