What is the best way to apply a self tanner?

spray is best, but if it's a lotion then i would apply it with a makeup sponge but be sparing don't put it on heavy and you'll have less of a chance of streaking :)

Exfoliate your skin first. Then apply multiple thin layers so you can be sure that is even and the color you want. I suggest going to a salon for the spray on tans.
