You can be thirty and a doctor, or thirty and not a doctor. If you're lucky, you will eventually be thirty anyway, and you might as well have achieved a dream like becoming the physician you want to be by that time. And lots of physicians have children, so one doesn't rule out the possibility of the other. Life will be stressful, but stress isn't always a bad thing. In fact, the stress of achieving is often less than the stress of not being in control of your own life, so you can be stressed and happy too. I'm assuming that you are still young, and if I were you, I would go for it. You can always change your mind later on if you realize this is not really the life you wanted for yourself, but don't sell yourself short by giving up now.

I am currently going to pre-med. So basically, I have juuuust started. But if you really want to become a doctor, set a path to your goals and shoot for it. Don't listen to the discouragement. Just remember that you are not the only one. I agree, it is a lot of years and life passes by so fast. I'm kind of scared too, but I will shoot for it. So, go ahead, and I think you'll be able to start a family by 32. Everything will come, so don't worry too much. Be what you want, go for it and it will make you truly happy. Good Luck! :-)

If you DON'T go to college, you'll still turn 30. Your family means well, I'm sure, but they aren't the ones who will have to live your life - you are the one who will have to live with your decisions. I say go for what you love; when you do that, the rest will fall into place. Maybe you'll have children at 35 instead of 32 - but it's much too early to be planning in that much detail; cross that proverbial bridge when you come to it, and in the meantime, pursue what matters to YOU.

It does take yrs. to become a doctor. My nephew is one and he had 5 yrs of college, went on for 2 more yrs. of some studying and then had to do his internship. He was in his late 20s' when he finished. Practiced one yr. and started his family. Good Luck

No, don't slow down, keep going, u can do it. the older generation does tend to think about their granchildren and also they want u to marry fast as tht's wht was done in their time, but don't give in, as u'll live to regret it for the rest of ur life, like my husband does
