button-fly, definitely....they may be a bit harder to get into but at least they sit better against the crotch and they don't come undone and let all your junk hang out like a zipper does.

zipper or buttons it depends on the pants. If they are jeans and the guy is a cowboy...zipper. If the pants are slacks and its a business man...buttons.
