Something that will never be accurately measured ad completely subjective.

Everybody has a different idea of intelligence. To some it is logic, to some knowledge.

In western culture it tends to be more about knowledge and how much knowledge someone has about a subject.

A person could be intelligent in one area and you ignorant in another. Intelligence is based upon different standards. One person could pass a really difficult maths exam and yet have no idea when it comes to a Geography test.

To others, intelligence can be wisdom. Knowledge about the past and the things around them.

Intelligence to mean seems a bit meaningless and something that will we never be able to objectively and fairly measures amongst all cultures and societies.

The best answer to this question (and this from a psychologist) is that intelligence is that which intelligence tests measure. In other words its a concept that has no agreed precise definition, psychologists and cognative scientists used to argue about it, however many now have abandoned the concept in favour of more concrete if limited ideas.

The word means 'to read between'.

It has nothing to do with the intellect or the capacity to store knowledge.

Our thinking and our thoughts are at best incoherent, because we assume we know but there is always more that we don't know.

Intelligence might be seen as a higher capacity of mind like insight or intuition. That can perceive the incoherence in thought and thinking and discern the real from the mental fabrication.

To me real intelligence in a person is the ability to communicate things that you have learned no matter how simple or how complex to each person you come into contact with. No matter the other persons level of comprehension or their level of intelligence. It's the abilty to make yourself understood by all of mankind.
