The British have no intrest in being an imperial power in this day and age. I kind of wonder what would have become of North America if the U.S. or at the time the thirteen colonies had stayed on the British Commonwealth and whatever the country came to be callled would have included all of Canada. That would have been one big country or it might have dissolved into may smaller coutries, who knows.

Yes but only over small bits of it. I'm not sure of the final list but let's just say Florida and Calefornia - and throw in Rhode island - wherever that is as well. That'll do fine to be getting on with.

My first instinct was to say no but on reflection the world might be a better place if we controlled America because we could not possibly do a worse job than Bush is doing.

Oh please, lets get real. The Brits sent their criminals and out cast to America. They didn't want the people here in the first place. The Brits only wanted the gold and other obtainable riches.
Thank goodness at the time the revolutionary war was going on they didn't feel it was worth winning.
NOW...they feel that they were mistaken.
The Brits were dealing with Native Americans, British outcasts, time, money, food, climate and distance for shipping war supplies.
Then the Brits had no idea we were planning to do the first thing unheard of at the time...guerrilla warfare.
Snipers were born from the revolutionary war and it won that for us. Men unseen hanging back in trees and waiting for the perfect the shot.
Its really to bad if the Brits want this country or not. It is not their option.
Good Luck and Take Care

Why? What good would it do? Its not like we need control as If there was something we needed from America, you'd lend it to us anyway. Win win situation isn't it?
