This year our sons B-Day is going to fall on Thanksgiving. Would it be better to have his own day on Friday or should we celebrate it on the actual day (which would be during the commotion of Thanksgiving)? Should his B-Day be seperate? We arn't agreeing on how we should do this.

I guess I shoul've also added this is my stepson and we are going to MY Aunts house for Dinner. I was thinking maybe it would be better for him to have his own individual day aside for Thanksgiving.

Since your son is only two now I don't think it makes a difference to him. Why not wait until he is older and let him decide.

I would wait until Saturday and celebrate twice. I have two daughters that are 6 and 8 and my husband and I always do a 2 party thing. Their actual birthdays are only for us and the sibling. We have a special candlelight dinner and cake and ice cream and on the weekend have the party. They are only young once and we cherish the day they were born and feel it is only for us, not grandparents etc. Not trying to be rude but the times we get with just the 4 of us, or however many of you there are, are few and far between and we know it is only a matter of years before they probably wont want to do it anymore.

I would sing happy birthday to him on Thanksgiving and stick some candles in the pumpkin pie. If you plan on having alot of family over this is a good way for them to celebrate with your son. You can have party for him a couple days later where his friends will be able to come over and celebrate with him. Just make sure to tell your relatives in advance that your planning on singing happy birthday to him. They might get the hint and bring a little something. Usually more family comes to Thanksgiving that an individuals birthday. So he might get lucky and snag some extra presents! How great is that?

i would say have it on another day besides thanksgiving, I dont know how many people you have coming over during that day, but if its going to be all the people u are inviting for the birthday and no more people then that, than do it on thanksgiving so you arent having everyone come out, and then they just have to come back out again the next day, chances are if u tell them u are having it the next day, they might just bring the gift on thanksgiving. if you just have a few people coming on thanksgiving, i wouldnt do it on thanksgiving because most people are out spending time with families and stuff and dont want to "party hop". so i think in my opinion(obviously. lol) it would depend on the people you have coming, by the way, how old is your son, that might change my opinion, i was assuming it was ababy. but if u had it on thanksgiving, u can make it just like his party with elmo and such, and party hats, just turkey and dressing for the food. lol

Celebrate it the day before because the day after everyone will still be stuff from Thanksgiving and no room for cake Even if he is 2 having his own special day is important for the memories.

I don't see any reason not to keep his Bday exactly the day it is. You can still have a cake, give presents & sing happy bday & he will still be so very happy! Plus, look at all the family that will be around for both turkey day & his Bday. I think it will turn out just fine!

Celebrate it on the day of your sons birth. There will be family around and you can have a big cake and ice cream.

the day of giving thanks for your blessings.
are you thankful that he was born?
were you blessed with his birth?
what better combination of days can their possibly be?
as you said he is a little young to understand the distinction of the coincidence-- but you should. what luck!
Put two candles in his mashed potatoes and make sure everyone has a bib on.
