If this is in regard to the Dell recall that has been in the press so much recently to to http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/batteryrecall/en/main
You will need to know the laptop model, and preferably have the laptop present.
If you could add the model type I could provide a better answer, as there have been several Dell battery recalls for various reasons.
If this is in regards to one of those other recalls you should contact Dell directly via phone or web.

Its a sony battery and you can go on their website to see if your laptop uses the battery on the recall list. Hope that helps!
