Ok by the time hanukkah comes around we will have been dating for umm 2.5 months, and were really into eachother and I'm trying to figure out what i can get him for Hanukkah, btw I'm sorta a Christian or Unitarian(yea i know that its weird and complicated) but he is Jewish(ovbiously) but i have no knowledge of the Jewish holiday present giving traditions. He's getting me a ring and a necklace for my b-day or christmas, (my bday is on Dec.26) and i dont wanna get him any more video games (though he would love them) but that would be limiting our time together.

get him something that would mean something special to him. if he is really the right guy for you then he would love any sensible gift from you. if all else fails you could always get him a cool tie or good book if he likes to read.

I would get 8 certificates which you agree to do something for him on that day.
1. 1 game of strip driedle
2. 1 ticket to do 1 load of laundry.
3. Dinner on you with no pork or shellfish
4. A you win an argument card. If you argue then you must give up when card is presented.
5. We get to do what you want night.
6. The I will light your candle right now card
7. Oh you look better than Judah Macabee after he went to the gym statement when he gets up.
8. 1 free kiss

Make a joke that this putz said you should get him some nice smaltz hearing on the card, but you decided on this instead.

A good bottle of colone would also be great if you want to spend more as you both would enjoy it.

Since Hanukkah lasts 8 nights spread your budget out to 8 smaller gifts. The traditions vary from family to family and from religious sects too. Traditional gifts are just small tokens like coins, fruit, candy. Due to its closeness to Christmas it has become more commercial.

well it is very similar to christmas, just give what you would if it were christmas, if you have a jewish boyfriend and you are not fully jewish that means they arent so strict or extremely traditional, maybe a ring that shows you commitment to him or something that will last
