How did the 12th amendment solve the specific problem that came about in the election of 1800. Just 7 sentences long. He doesn't want us to summarize what the 12th amendment says or what happened in 1800. He just wants us to answer the question if anyone knows what that means. This guy is tough. Thanks for the help.

Both answers suck and I don't need an answer to this question anymore, so next person who actually gives me an ACTUAL answer (not something like "go read" yourself), I will gladly choose your answer as best. Thanks!

Awesome...for the points, I'll take them! And the in the election of 1800, a tie between two men of the same party--Jefferson and Bur--resulted. The 12th amendment made it so the electors vote twice, specifying which man they voted for president and which they voted for vice president.

Thanks and have a nice day!

I'll just tell you that they couldn't decide whether or not to make Thomas Jefferson or Aaron Burr President. Since it IS homework, you'll have to find the rest.

But don't worry, there's a lot of info about it online.

HINT: Certain "online editable encyclopedias" have information, and links to information, about exactly what you're looking for.
