I dont start the new pack until the day il supposed to but i was just wondering if it was okay for me to just not take them. If they are just sugar pills it wont hurt right? I mean, they are reminder pills, what if i dont need a reminder?

When I first started on BC, I took the reminder pills. That only lasted through a couple cycles. I have not taken the placebos for about a year now. There haven't been any problems. I just remember when I'm supposed to start a new pack. Besides, I don't think my husband would let me forget... he's not ready for a baby yet. =)

Hope this helps.

They only serve as a reminder to take pills. They are essentially just sugar pills, so if you can remember to take the regular pills, there is no need to take the placebos. I never took mine, didn't get pregnant until almost 2 years after I stopped the birth control.

I took bc pills for years and I never took the placebo pills. But my close friend ended up having a cyst and her doctor told her one of the reasons was because she should have been taking the placebo pills with her bc pills. She never really explained this to me, so honestly I can't tell you how accurate this was, but I thought I'd pass on this advice. It honestly didn't change the way I took my bc pills, I still continued to not take the placebos and just waited a week to start my pills again.

It wont hurt you to skip them. Just make sure you start your new pack on the right day.
I take the placebos just to keep myself in the habit of taking the pill each day.

No you don't have to take those if you can remember on your own to start the new ones on time.
You could take the 3 weeks and then skip the placebos and open up your next month if you'd like to skip your period. I wouldn't recommend that on a consistent basis though.

I never do. When I first started taking them, just to remind me I did, but once I got in the habit I stopped. You will be fine without them if you will remember to start your new pack.

no, they are just there to remind you. I never take mine and have not had a problem yet.

I never do. They're to remind you to take them everyday, so you won't forget.

You don't HAVE to but it's a GREAT way of not losing your place in the cycle. That's the reason they're there.
