Do you have to have a real legal business to sell a product online?

Ok. Hypothetically speaking, you can do anything on the web. You can shop, and you can sell (ebay) so with that in mind, can i technically sell a product, with my logo yet I not have a real company? Is there any legal problems with that? This is a follow up to my promotional item question.
