of the past? namely against the Persian empire (Iran) Ottomans (Turkey not being allowed into the EU) etc. Even the Palestinian question is nothing new.

I think the new developments - with Muslim Jihadists against the (mainly) Christian West, are just new episodes in the broad conflict between the two religions with the third one, Judaism, fueling the fire.

I mean no disrespect for those who believe in peace and embrace their respective religions peacefully. But there are radicals on all sides of this spectrum who TRULY BELIEVE that the others are their 'enemies' as pronounced by 'God' and are hell- bent on destroying each other. Some do it with guided missiles from a mile away and some do it with hijacked airplanes. But they all create death and destruction while preaching religion.

To the Muslim Jihadists the crusades never ended, the Christians (west) just retreated. The Jihadists believe they came back when the UK and France split up the Ottoman Empire during WWI and they think of the state of Israel as a nation of the west. To the Jihadists the crusades never ended.

This conflict has been going on for centuries and will go on until the day war is actually inflicted with totalitarian results. The world today plays with 'police' actions that only invite continuation of the religious conflicts of the region.

War destorys things, removes government and its leaders and leaves no survivor the will to continue with aggression. We play games today by removing a single man and his immediate supporters and think we have won the war. Iraq and Afganistan proves this type of thinking wrong.

The way to put a stop to this, target the leaders both political and religious who want to play war. If war is what they want - give it to them. Wipe out their governments, kill their leaders, destroy their cities - if this is what they want - give it to them. They already hate us - give them a real reason to hate us. This includes the Inmans who preach a religion with one side of their mouths while the other side of their mouths preach war and terrorism.

As per Hamlet, "Do it England". Do it while we still have time and do it before it comes to these and our shores - i.e., nation.

Are you saying that this has something to do with Alexander's conquest of Persia? I don't think so.
That was a millennium before Islam. This war is religious in nature.

For the radicalised Muslims I believe it has always been a high priority to kill infidels. Seems we just kinda let it slip our minds till they started up in a big way again. I hope we don't forget it anytime soon....we'd be happy to let them live their lives and do their thing, they wouldn't see it that way though. Convert or die seems to be their recruitment method.
