I'm not familiar with Ulysses, but all the other stories are tied to the concept of loyalty to your fellows, and the consequences of betraying that loyalty.Don Quixote has Sancho Panza,King Arthur has Lancelot,Frodo has Samwise Gamgee, and each of these faithful companions help the hero toward his goal. All these have chivalric ideals assigned to their quest, and all fall short.
Of course,Ulysses,of James Joyce is not the Ulysses of Homer.

Actually the Lord of the Rings draws heavily from Icelandic and Germanic mythology.

they are all stories,so they are all myths.....
but if u refer at the clasic old mythology and myths(like the greek mythology) then 1 and 4 are excluded(especially frodo which is just a fictional movie character). king arthur comes from the english mythology, and ulysses from the greek one.

I'm not 100% sure about your question but I wanted to say to the other people who said all myths are fiction, what about the female orgasm that's supposed to be a myth? And heres something I think might help you guys.
"Depends upon who you ask,
If you ask Aristotle or Socrates, they will give you two different interpretations of what "truth" is.
Personally, there is no "truth" but that which you take/view/perceive/acknowledge as "truth."
In short: "truth" is a matter of perception, and since 'perception' is relative, it boils down to personal opinion that makes "truth." Math is governed by rules, thus its version of truth is absolute and sure, only changing when the rules are changed. "

Myths are about things that are fiction, but I think for it to really be considered one it would have to be something that people really believed happened. They are also usually stories that explain how things happen or came to be. (like in Greek and roman mythology. the story of arachne is about how spiders came to be.) Also a lot of times they talk of gods and heroes. Hope that helps. :)

Mythology is the study of myths: stories of a particular culture that it believes to be true and that feature a specific religious or belief system.
i think all those stories have a little myth to them.

Arthur is a mythical figure. The others are part of stories that are brilliant and educational. They are not myths however...but the way my brother goes on about LoTR....it might be a myth in his mind. lol
