We just moved here a week ago. We want to take a trip over Thanksgiving to Wash, DC. Should we drive or take a train? If by train, does anyone know where to find which trains to take? Thanks!

I don't live far from you and I ALWAYS drive to DC and stay in Northern VA (Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax).

Ig you don't know your way around DC, it's crazy on the beltway. It's always so busy and those HOV lanes are confusing and annoying. We drove through once and got lost ... I think we went right around the whole beltway lmao.

But taking a train is a lost less hassel, and you can sleep the whole way instead of driving!

trains are easier in a sense, if you understand it, going to d.c. on a train would take many many transfers, so you would most likely make a mistake. Enjoying the vacation would be better if you had a car. D.C. has many confusing streets that start and end and restart randomly (made as a security measure) but i would suggest you just bring a d.c. map and navagate your way around.

if you are looking to save money though, trains would be cheaper, and going to d.c. would require a few pumps at the gas station
