I'm making mashed potatoes, orange scented green beans, okra and tomatoes, buttered baby carrots, and a cold Italian pasta salad.

Besides the annual favorite of Green Bean Casserole... my Grandma used to make an awesome (1) potato & cheese casserole & (2) an egg & turkey sausage dish... it may not sound appetizing but, it is wonderful!!! ... it's like a quesch without the crust & left-overs are almost better than fresh from the oven!! If interested I can send you the recipe(s).

Corn Casserole:
1 box jiffy corn bread mix
1 C. light sour cream
1 C. melted butter
1 can cream style corn
1 can whole kernel corn
1 T. sugar
2 beaten eggs

Mix well & pour into baking dish(9x12) that has been coated with pam.Bake 45 min.-1hr at 350 degrees until browned.

Green Bean Casserole

¾ cup of milk
1/8 t. pepper
10 ¾ oz can cream of mushroom soup
2 14.5oz cans cut green beans ,drained
1 ¾ cups French original French fried onions
In a 1 1/2 qt casserole, mix all ingredients except 2/3 cup onions.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 or until hot..stir. top with 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 minutes or until onions are golden

Last year and year before I do a little bit different. Baked Mac & Cheese or Rosemary & Garlic Roasted Red Potatoes.
Cornbread simple steamed veggies are good too!
I always have stuffing, rolls and cranberry sauce though.

One of my favorites is Carrots. Cauliflower, Broccoli, and cheese.

You cook the veggies until they are melt in your mouth soft and add your favorite cheese. I believe that my aunt makes it with either Velveeta or Cheddar.
