In my philosophy class, we were given a similar question to consider: If you could have 1 billion dollars only if you were willing to shorten your life by 20 years, would you take it?

I think that question is asking what yours is asking, but also gives time and money more specific value. When given that question to consider, I thought about it long and hard while my more impulsive classmates gave their answers first. Most all of them said that they couldn't trade their time for any amount of money, but after careful consideration, I disagreed. If I figure my life span to be 80 years, and I was 20 at the time of the offer, I would definitely take the money. The last twenty years of my life would probably be characterized by decreased mental and physical ability. But with that money, I could live out my dreams and do many things with my life that I couldn't do otherwise. I wouldn't have to work a standard job and could live according to my whims and desires. I could make sure everyone I care about would have no more economic worries. I could make the next 40 years of my life like my personal heaven. People say that money can't buy happiness. Either they lie or they don't think like me. 1 billion dollars would buy me all the happiness I could hope for, and that is more important to me than living as long as possible.

Time and the way you use it in life is more important than money. I also once heard that if you do what you love the money will come.

The answer is time, but it depends on how you use it.

For those that live life, a few minutes can be as satisfying as a lifetime. For those that don't, a lifetime can be as meaningless as a single drop of rain falling in the ocean...

(of course, a single drop of rain falling in an ocean has _some_ meaning, but that is another questions;-)

[The reason the previous poster thinks the question is off is because the realms are different. Money is a physical representation of wealth, time runs across a completely different dimension.]

Time is important because money won't matter when we die and I think people need to just use their time for the better. Time is of the essence each and every day. I mean, you can live life to its fullest. I recommend that you live, Live like it's the last day on earth!

While money to do what you want is nice, your time is very limited, it is the most precious gift, a thing to be spent with those that mean the most to you, and not to be wasted feeling sad, vengeful, angry ,hating or feeling sorry for yourself. There is no limit to have much money you could have technically (depending on what you are willing to do for it) but you can only cheat death so long, you will run out of time. Use your time wisely.

Time of course. You can get a whole bunch of money but if time stops you can't enjoy the benfits to be had because of the money but if you have time then you can always use the energy of that time to make money and enjoy it To have life-must have time for when time stops there goes life

Surely time..
Money can come and go....
Time only goes.....

I've been thinking about it, because some of my friends ask their boyfriends to buy them nice gifts, or take them to fancy expensive restaurants...while I just want to be with my sweetie.
I was thinking how "cheap" it was to be with me....and that maybe I should ask something once in a while...
But then I realized that I was so much more expensive than this other girls...because I make my bf spend his time, and not his money with me...
And that it is so hard to get time, and once it's gone, it will never come back, so I'm "proud" of having all this expensive super valuable time!

So....for sure, time!

Time is more important. We have such a limited amount of it ourselves. Money comes and goes, but we always have the opportunity to make more. We can't do that with Time.

There's nothing better than balance... but just to answer, money buys you time to do what you like the most!!! To search for happiness or whatever else you are looking for.
